The Springfield Ski Club has taken Touring trips all over the world.  We have visited Italy, Greece, Spain, Japan, Egypt, Costa Rica to name a few destinations.  Ski Club trips are attractive to our members because of the reasonable cost and tremendous value we are able to offer.  We don’t operate the trips as profit making ventures such as travel agencies do.  Our goal is to provide the trip as economically as possible, so more members can participate.  Frequently, the tour trips are in high demand, and there is a waiting list to get on the trips.  As an example, in 2002, there were enough members on the waiting list for the Italy trip, the SSC was able to set up another identical trip.  The trips crossed paths in Rome for one day, but one group started and ended a few days earlier than the other group.  We are always anxious to find out what destinations our members are interested in.  Europe has been a popular destination, but in recent years the value of the US dollar against the Euro has been problematic.  Many of our members over the years have joined because they wanted to participate in one of our tour trips.
